Diamond Twin Star NG
In April 2010 the FAA certified Diamond Aircraft’s New Generation DA42 powered by Diamond’s own Austro AE300 HP Turbocharged Diesel engines. What really distinguishes the NG from the previous generation TDi is the avionics package. The NG fully realizes the DA42′s potential with the addition of Garmin’s Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT) and the digital GFC700 Automatic Flight Control System capable of tracking both WAAS approaches and Vertical Navigation (VNAV) profiles. The creature comforts have also been enhanced by a bubble canopy which adds a few extra inches of head and elbow room without significantly affecting performance. The Twin Star has always been a wonderful flying machine but the NG is in a class of its own.
