We designed this pilot’s operating handbook to be an easier-to-use version of the airplane flight manual. Meant to be a reference for DA40 pilots, it is over 500 pages of information printed on double sided half-letter size pages. We replicated the tabs in Diamond’s flight manual and added a few to improve usability.

The tabbed sections are:
1-General, 2-Limitations, 3-Emergency, 4A-Normal, 4B-Abnormal, 5-Performance, 6-Mass & Bal, 7-Systems, 8-Handling, 9-Supplements

The Supplement tabs are: 1200 KG Take-Off, G1000, SVT, GFC700, KAP 140

One  unique feature of our AFM is the three ring binder. Because of the thick plastic cover and heavy-duty spine it is durable enough for constant use and the binder makes it easy to add weighing reports specific to the tail numbers of the airplanes flown. The binder also adds the ability to update supplements and revisions to match an airplane’s specific equipment list. With this product, pilots can leave their airplane’s flight manual in the cockpit where it stays safe from damage and use this Flight Manual for all their study and flight planning purposes.

Our DA42 Diamond Quick Reference Checklist is a compact and practical checklist with easy access to normal and select emergency procedures. Designed to fit into the Hendricks 9G+ kneeboard, this easy-to-use checklist will help ensure nothing is missed from preflight to shut down. The cards are  printed on plastic to survive daily wear with a non-glare finish to prevent reflecting the sun into the pilots’ eyes.

Three double sided cards are tabbed “Normal”, “Normal/ Emergency” and “Emergency”, are color coded, numbered and grouped to enhance flight usability. Our card set checklist is also available coil bound on top for use independent of the kneeboard.

For use in the cockpit as well as on the ground, we compiled a checklist complete with every procedure in the Airplane Flight Manual. The booklet is divided into Normal, Abnormal & Emergency sections, with frequently used checklists tabbed for easy reference. The heavy-stock pages are laminated for durability and the book is bound with a coil binding for ease of use. This checklist is designed so the pilot has access to Normal & Abnormal Procedures on one side then flips the book over to use the Emergency Checklists.

Last Spring while planning a flight from Long Beach to Sedona we stumbled across a problem: we needed the performance charts to calculate takeoff and landing distances but didn’t have them with us. We had long ago abandoned the idea of carrying the airplane AFM because of wear and tear and the inevitable “forgetting it on the kitchen table” syndrome. What we really needed was a flight manual we could throw into our flight bag which could be used with maximum ease and minimal concern for it’s condition. After endlessly scouring the internet for a Twin Star handbook, we decided to print one ourselves.

We designed this flight manual for convenience and durability. We printed pages on double-sided 1/2 letter sheets for compact size, used a thick clear plastic cover and vinyl backing to withstand abuses of coffee spills and dirt smudges. The chapters are tabbed for easy reference and include supplements for the auxiliary tank operation, KAP140 autopilot and de-ice system so as to have all available information in one easy to use package.

Designed to maximize the “kneeboard real estate”, our Flight Pad has features for both IFR and VFR flight. Specifically sized for the the Hendricks 9G+ kneeboard, the Flight Pad is double-sided with space to copy clearances, ATIS reports, headings, frequency changes and notes. Over the years our Diamond pilots experimented with perhaps every commercially available kneeboard (and some home-made ones) and overwhelmingly selected the Hendricks 9G+. Designed for center-stick military aircraft pilots, the Hendricks 9G+ is small enough to allow full deflection of the control stick while still having a writing surface large enough to be practical.
